US tariffs to hit ‘All Countries’ – Trump

United State President Donald Trump says his administration will soon announce reciprocal tariffs which will apply to “all countries”, pouring cold water on hopes that only economies with the biggest trade imbalances with the US would be targeted.
Trump told newsmen on board Air Force One on Sunday, that the anticipated tariff announcement on April 2 would begin with all countries.
Kevin Hassett, White House economics adviser said that the measures would be heavily focused on 10 to 15 countries that account for the bulk of the US trade deficit.
“We may have some short term pain, but people understand that. The United States has been ripped off by every country and we are going to change that.” Trump stated.
With 48 hours for the tariffs to come into force, the United Kingdom is still in talks with the US about an exemption.
