Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, Adeleke, Others Sends New Year Message

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and several governors in the festive spirit of the new year, have their greetings and messages to their people. These were expected to give the residents of each State something to hold onto in the new year.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized economic progress, noting improvements in the Naira’s stability, rising foreign reserves, and growth in the stock market in the concluded year as he assured Nigerians to reduce inflation and boost food production.
Worthy of note was his promise to improve access to credit through a new National Credit Guarantee Company. The president also called for unity, patriotism, and adherence to shared values, with plans to unveil a National Values Charter in the first quarter of 2025.
In Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu reflected on the state’s achievements in infrastructure and governance in 2024, including the launch of the Red Line Rail and the expansion of the Blue Line. He expressed confidence in the state’s ability to continue leading with bold, inclusive projects, echoing Tinubu’s vision of progress and unity.
Similarly, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi mentioned the strides in lifting citizens out of poverty and expanding agricultural opportunities. His commitment to infrastructure and human capital development aligns with the president’s call for collective efforts to improve the nation.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun emphasized his administration’s focus on “soft infrastructure,” promising policies to strengthen healthcare, education, and citizen well-being in 2025. He mentioned his administration’s achievements such as road rehabilitation and school upgrades, which mirrors the federal government’s broader goals of easing citizens’ burdens.
In Gombe, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya encouraged unity and resilience, celebrating milestones such as the signing of the Disability Protection Law and clearing backlogs of gratuities.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano pledged to complete ongoing projects in roads, healthcare, and education, with a significant portion of the state’s budget allocated to the education sector. His focus echoes the federal government’s prioritization of these sectors as well .
Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde assured residents of policies aimed at easing economic pressures, emphasizing infrastructure projects such as upgrading the Ibadan Airport and completing the Ibadan Circular Road. Like Tinubu, Makinde celebrated achievements in attracting investment and supporting local businesses.
Across the board, the messages shared common themes of optimism and hope for a better future. Each governors recognized the challenges faced in 2024 while expressing confidence in the progress that will be made in the new year.
They all promised to focus on inclusive development, economic growth, and policies that prioritize the welfare of their people, setting a hopeful tone for the year ahead.
