PDP May Soon Become a Carcass – Fayose Says as He Praises Tinubu’s Economic Reforms

Former Ekiti State Governor and prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) figure, Ayodele Fayose, has commended President Bola Tinubu for taking bold steps to rescue Nigeria from economic collapse.

Speaking to reporters after meeting with the President in Lagos on Monday, Fayose described the visit as a personal one, aimed at encouraging Tinubu to continue pushing forward with reforms that, though not yielding instant results, are vital for the country’s long-term stability.

“I came to show support and encourage him to remain focused. These are not decisions with immediate benefits, but they are necessary for a better future,” Fayose said.

He revealed that his belief in Tinubu’s leadership dated back to his days as a sitting governor, adding that the President’s efforts to stabilize the economy and the naira were commendable and gave Nigerians renewed hope.

Fayose also took the opportunity to reaffirm his loyalty to the PDP, distancing himself from speculation that he might defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Ayo Fayose will not move from PDP to any political party, not even the APC,” he stated firmly.

However, he warned that the PDP was in a deep crisis and risked becoming irrelevant if urgent steps were not taken to resolve its internal issues. According to him, many of those who left the party were either frustrated by the ongoing crisis or drawn by Tinubu’s performance.

“The PDP is in trouble. If nothing is done, it may soon become a carcass,” he cautioned.

Fayose’s comments come at a time of renewed debate over the future of the opposition party and its role in the current political landscape.
