Eberechi Eze Celebrates Igbo Heritage With Traditional Wedding Ceremony

Eberechi Eze, the Crystal Palace midfielder and England international, recently honored his Igbo heritage by holding a traditional wedding ceremony. On May 30, 2025, Eze and his wife, Izuthe Mulatto, celebrated their union with an Igbo-themed wedding in London, embracing the rich cultural customs of his Nigerian roots.
Born in Greenwich, Greater London, to Igbo parents from Mbaise, Imo State, Eze has always maintained a strong connection to his heritage despite representing England internationally.

The ceremony was a vibrant display of Igbo tradition, featuring Eze dressed in the iconic Isiagu top, while elders and guests wore traditional white garments and red caps.
Eze and Izuthe, who have been together since their teenage years, were legally married in a private ceremony on May 27, 2022. They prefer to keep their relationship private, with Izuthe even deleting her Instagram account for added discretion. Nevertheless, Eze occasionally shares glimpses of their life together on social media.
This traditional wedding beautifully celebrated not only their love but also Eze’s Nigerian Igbo culture, blending tradition and romance in a memorable event.
