Corps Member Donates Solar Power System to NYSC Lagos Camp Clinic

In a commendable act of community service, corps member Everit George Ozioma (LA/25A/1425) has donated a 12.5KVA solar inverter system to the NYSC Orientation Camp Clinic in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.

The project, aimed at ensuring an uninterrupted power supply to the clinic and nearby facilities, was inspired by George’s personal encounter with the consequences of power outages in healthcare settings. To bring the project to life, he partnered with renewable energy firm Evacheck Energy.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Evacheck Energy representative Mr. Daniel Auchikuwa emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. He noted that a similar project had earlier been implemented in Ikorodu, underlining their ongoing efforts to support healthcare through clean energy.

The solar installation was officially commissioned by the Lagos State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Christiana Salmwag, who applauded George’s initiative. She encouraged corps members to channel their skills and passion into meaningful contributions to society, stating, “Be agents of impact, not just social media commentators.”

This development mirrors a similar intervention in Ebonyi State, where the ALGON Chairman recently donated a transformer to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Afikpo, bringing an end to years of power outages at the facility.
