ALLEGED HARASSMENT: Family of Missing Ebonyi Critic, NCN Under Threat

The wife of Nwoba Chika Nwoba (NCN), a former Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, who was reported missing earlier, has raised an alarm over the safety of her family.
In a Facebook post, Gift Onyinyechi, the wife of the missing critic, claimed that unknown men, who could not be identified as police or SARS operatives, stormed their apartment, requesting information about her husband’s whereabouts.
The post, which was made two hours ago, reads:
“Two hours ago, unknown men without uniform or ID card batched into my apartment requesting for my husband’s whereabouts. These people can’t be identified if they are police or SARS. As it stands now, our safety is at stake. If anything happens to me or any member of my family, then Ebonyi State government should be questioned.”
What Happened To Mr. Nwoba Chika Nwoba (NCN)?Â
Asiwaju Media reported on Monday that Nwoba Chika Nwoba (NCN), a member of the opposition and former Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, was reported missing.
His personal assistant confirmed his disappearance in a Facebook post, sparking widespread concern among his supporters and colleagues.
“Information just got to me that Nwoba Chika Nwoba may have been arrested, i will update you once it’s confirmed.”
Opinion on his Sudden DisappearanceÂ
However, a Facebook post by Mr. Okoro Justice on Tuesday revealed that Nwoba was not missing but rather in hiding.
According to Mr. Justice post, Nwoba’s disappearance was due to a bench warrant issued against him by the Federal High Court for failing to appear in court on three separate occasions.
While lending his voice to the sudden disappearance of Mr. Nwoba, Barrister Ugama Steve emphasized.
“It is a cardinal principle of our justice system that he who alleges must prove. You are standing a criminal trial, you have failed to appear thrice to face your trial, the Federal High Court has now issued a bench warrant against you and you went into hiding while deceiving your gullible followers that you have been arrested.”
Bar. Ugama further noted that Nwoba’s actions were a deliberate attempt to avoid the consequences of the trial.
“In courtrooms, it is serious business. No be Cho Cho Cho on social media.”
He also pointed the dangers of propaganda and character defamation.
“Propaganda is not a career, character defamation is not a skill and ability to write very well is not intelligence, good education, wisdom or even common sense.”
Additionally, Mr. Justice reminded that, “The constitution guarantees your freedom of speech, but the same constitution does not guarantee your freedom after any careless speech.” He also emphasized the importance of understanding the power of a sitting governor as the chief security officer of the state, and the constitutionality of the governor’s immunity.
Furthermore, rumors have emerged that Nwoba was being pursued by CSMT, a school he had criticized and allegedly exposing its students, including the children of the state governor, to potential danger.
Additionally, there were reports of numerous petitions against Nwoba on the commissioner of police desk.
