Why We Remain Silent  Over UNIABUJA’s Leadership Crisis —ASUU

The  Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has given the reason it has not made any public comment so far on the vice chancellorship appointment crisis rocking the University of Abuja.

ASUU as a body is known for making its stance known to the public whenever there is controversy on the appointment of a new vice chancellor, especially for federal universities like that of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa, last year.

The president of the union, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, in an exclusive interview with Nigerian Tribune when asked about the ASUU’s stance on UNIABUJA’s leadership crisis, explained that it wasn’t as if the union was not concerned about the situation but it’s still investigating the matter holistically, looking at all sides so as to gather accurate facts to give to the public.

According to him, “ASUU acts only on facts and so, we are still looking at all sides to obtain accurate facts before we make a public statement on the matter.
