Tinubu Urges Sacrifice, Unity, and Hope in Eid-el-Kabir Message to Nigerians

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Nigerian Muslims and the global Muslim Ummah, urging citizens to reflect on the values of sacrifice, devotion, and selflessness that define the sacred celebration.
In a heartfelt statement, the President emphasized that Eid-el-Kabir goes beyond festivities, calling it “a time for gratitude to Almighty Allah” and a reminder of the deep spiritual meaning behind Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) obedience and sacrifice.
“To truly honour Eid, we must embody these virtues, just as Prophet Ibrahim (AS) exemplified complete submission to Allah’s will and as our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has taught us,” Tinubu said.
He also appealed to Nigerians to display resilience, tolerance, compassion, and dedication to national progress. Acknowledging the economic challenges many have endured, he reassured citizens that “the toughest days are behind us” and that the country is “entering a new era of renewed hope and prosperity.”
“We may not yet be where we aspire to be, but I urge all Nigerians not to lose hope. Let us hold on to our faith and persevere,” he added, noting that key economic indicators are beginning to show positive signs.
While acknowledging recent tragedies, including the May 28 flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, which claimed lives and displaced many, the President called for prayers and collective support for affected communities.
He concluded by calling for unity and compassion among citizens, encouraging everyone to remember the needy, care for one another, and continue praying for national leaders, front-line officers, and peace in Nigeria and the world.
“May Almighty Allah accept our worship and devotion as acts of Ibadah, and may His blessings be with us always,” Tinubu prayed.
