Stop Sexualising Women at First Sight, I’m More Than My Body – BBNaija’s Doyin Expresses

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Doyin David, has spoken out against the tendency of some men to immediately sexualize women upon meeting them, often reducing them to their physical attributes rather than trying to understand them as individuals.

Appearing on the dating talk show Thanks For Coming, hosted by Grand Prince Ita, Doyin emphasized that while sex is important to her, she is more than just her body.

“Most times when a guy meets a girl, it’s very easy for them to sexualize her. They’re already thinking about what sex would be like without even knowing the person. Sex is important to me, but I’m a whole human being outside of my vagina,” she said.

She also reflected on the challenges of modern dating in Nigeria, describing it as stressful for both men and women.

“It’s been a minute, to be honest. A couple of months ago. Dating in Nigeria these days is an extreme sport. It’s hectic,” she admitted.

Despite the difficulties, Doyin said she remains open to vulnerability and submission—but only with a man who proves himself worthy.

“I will be submissive for the right man,” she said.

Speaking further on her ideal partner, she stressed the importance of emotional intelligence. For her, a great relationship is built on a man’s willingness to truly listen and adjust his behavior in response to her needs.
