Salesgirl Allege Stealing Employer’s N2.1m

A 23-year old salesgirl, Bukola Adeoye, was arraigned before a Badagry Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos on Wednesday for allegedly stealing N2.1 million belonging to her Employer.
Adeoye, whose address is unknown is standing trial on a one-court charge of stealing. However, she pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Inspector Ayodele Adeosun, the prosecutor, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 20, 2024 at approximately 2:00 pm in the Mosafejo Area of Badagry, Lagos.
According to Adeosun, Adeoye has been alleged to have stolen N968,200 cash, belonging to her employer, one Zannu Thomas.
Also, the defendant allegedly took N1,174,800, which was the total sales made over a one-week period, and used it for her personal benefit instead of turning it over to her employer.
The prosecutor said that the offence violated Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adekomaiya adjourned the case until February 11, for further mention.
