Obaseki announces N70, 000 New Minimum Wage

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for civil servants in the state.
The Governor stated this while inaugurating the new Labour House in Edo state on Monday.
Obaseki explained explained that the new wage would comes into effect on May 1st, 2024.
Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is engaging the federal government to approve a new minimum wage for workers due to inflation and economic hardship.
National Labor Congress(NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) are proposing N615,000 for the new minimum wage.
