NMA Bewails Death of Sokoto Medical Doctors in Road Accident

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has expressed their condolences over the death of two medical doctors from Sokoto Specialist Hospital, along with four others individuals in a tragic road accident in Bodinga-Yabo road.

On Sunday, January 13, the deceased doctors, Dr. Anas Chika and Dr. Abubakar Liman Shehu, were on their way to Kebbi when their vehicle collided with an oncoming, resulting in the deaths of all six occupants.

Speaking on behalf of the medical community, Dr. Faruk Kabiru, the state chairman of the NMA, described the doctors as young and dedicated professionals whose contribution to the health sector would be deeply missed.

Also, Dr. Attahiru Isa, the Chief Medical Director of Sokoto Specialist Hospital, expressed his sadness, explaining the critical roles doctors played in the hospital.

“Dr. Anas was attached to the Gynaecology Department (O and G), while Dr. Shehu worked in the General Out-patient Department (GOPD) and also served as the Chief Imam of the department. Both were dedicated, humble, and hardworking. Their passing is a significant loss to the hospital and the state,” Dr. Isa stated

“These were doctors who continued to persevere in their roles despite the demanding nature of their units. We are truly heartbroken, but we submit to the will of Allah and pray that He grants them Jannatul Firdaus and consoles their families.”
