Lar Park Lincoln, Knots Landing actress and author, dies at 63

Lar Park Lincoln, an actress who had worked on TV shows such as Knots Landing and movies including Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, and went on to coach aspiring actors and write a book about succeeding in the entertainment industry, has died. She was 63.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lar Park Lincoln, celebrated actress, founder of Actors Audition Studios, and America’s beloved Audition Coach, on April 22, 2025,” a Facebook post from the company she founded read. “Over her 45-year career, Lar left an unforgettable mark on Hollywood through her dynamic performances and dedication to mentoring aspiring actors.”
No cause of death was given. The actress had previously struggled with breast cancer, The Hollywood Reporter noted.
Born Laurie Jill Park in Dallas, Lincoln earned her first professional acting credit on a 1985 TV movie, Children of the Night, alongside Kathleen Quinlan and Mario Van Peebles. She nabbed roles in projects such as TV’s Hunter and Highway to Heaven, before playing the part of Tina Shepard in 1987’s Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood.
Lincoln appeared on dozens of episodes of Knots Landing between 1987 and 1991, beginning in the show’s ninth season. For most of it, she played the devious Linda Fairgate, who was a romantic interest for the sons of Karen (Michele Lee) and Mack (Kevin Dobson), a lover of Greg Sumner (William Devane), and a nemesis of Nicollette Sheridan‘s character, Paige Matheson, before being murdered. Per Variety, she also stood in as a dead body known as “Sally’s friend.”
Lincoln guessed that her character was a fan favorite because she was “so rotten and so fun at the same time,” she said in a 2022 interview with a fan site of the nighttime soap.
Her other work included episodes of shows such as Freddy’s Nightmares; Murder, She Wrote; Beverly Hills, 90210; and City of Justice, and appearing on QVC for decades.

Along with her love of acting, Lar Park Lincoln had a passion for teaching others how to break into show business, which she wrote about in her 2008 book Get Started, Not Scammed. Her company website notes that it was a passion for her to work with actors and speakers.
The official message about her death notes that “the family requests privacy during this time and is grateful for the outpouring of love over Lar’s four-decade career. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The SAG-AFTRA Foundation or The Entertainment Community Fund.”

Lincoln was married to Michael Lincoln, who died of cancer in 2015, for 14 years.
The obituary says, “She is survived by her daughter, Piper (husband Tarek); son, Trevor (wife Danielle); sister, Karen (husband Harold); brother, Michael (wife Joan); four grandchildren (Aura, Benjamin, Jack, and Mia Grace); her poodle, Charlie; and countless friends, extended family, and admirers worldwide.”
