Lagos Corps Members Urged to Combat Corruption by EFCC and ICPC

Anti-corruption bodies in the country, the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, and Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related offences Commission, have urged 2023 batch “C” Stream II Orientation Course corps members to be anti-corruption agents.

Speaking during the anti-corruption sensitization, an official of the Public Affairs department of the EFCC, Lagos office, Mrs Tokan-Lawal Titilola, said criminal activities such as robbery, kidnapping, fraud, corruption etc are responsible for the jeopardized state of Nigeria’s economy.

She urged the corps members to be change agents by getting equipped with skills and channeling them to provide profit for the economy.
This will increase investors’ confidence in the economy. Furthermore, Mrs Ade Adams from the ICPC explained that corruption is the misuse of public trust for personal gain.

“She emphasized that corruption is an illegal practice that violates the societal norms and values. She further explained that activities such as bribery, internet fraud, nepotism, extortion, inflation, among others, are different forms of corruption. She urged the corps members to join the campaign against corruption by serving as watchdogs of the society.”
