Kogi State Governor Partnership with NASRDA 

The Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has urged the management of the National Space Research and Development Agency,NASRDA  to praise his administration’s efforts to combat insecurity and improve agriculture and food security in the state.

He also requested the agency’s support in speeding up progress in land reforms and sought support for development in other critical sectors, leveraging the agency’s existing space technology and innovation capabilities.

This was disclosed on Monday in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser, Media, Ismail Isah, stating that Olodo made the call during a meeting with the Director General of NASRDA, Dr. Mathew Adepoju. 

“The Kogi State Governor who was in the company of some senior officials of the government assured all that the state government is committed to ensuring partnership with NASRDA to improve the state’s Geographic Information System to facilitate land reform, promote agriculture and food sufficiency, security lives and property and other critical sectors of the state’s economy.” he stated 

While acknowledging the state of technology and innovation endowment available at NASRDA, he added that governor is urging the agency’s leaders to work closely with the Kogi State Government by providing necessary support to boost development in the areas outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the agency and the state government in Lokoja last year. 

Adepoju commended the governor for the level of infrastructural development and others achievement recorded within one year of his administration in the state. 

He appreciated the governor for adopting space technology as a way of combating insecurity and promoting development in different sectors of the state’s economy, assuring him that the partnership between NASRDA and the state government will be sustained in the interest of the country and the people.
