Gov. Abiodun Rewards Teacher N5 Million Cash ,  Bungalow For Global Recognition

The Executive Governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun has announced a N5 million cash reward and a bungalow for Kayode Adewale, an award-winning math teacher recently shortlisted for the prestigious $1 million Global Teacher Prize.

Adewale, who incorporates technology and teaches mathematics in the local language at Imagbon/Imaka Comprehensive High School in Ogun State, was selected as one of the top 50 finalists for the international award.

In a statement on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Governor Abiodun commended Adewale’s outstanding achievement and named him the Ogun State Education Ambassador. 

The governor also pledged to support Adewale with the cash reward and a bungalow, which he can choose to have built in any part of the state.

“Today, as a government committed to fostering excellence, we are proud to honor Kayode Adewale as the Ogun State Education Ambassador. To commemorate this achievement, we will provide him with a bungalow in any part of Ogun State of his choice. Additionally, we will support him with a cash prize of ₦5,000,000 to further inspire his outstanding work in education.” he stated 

“His humility and unwavering dedication to uplifting his community through education are truly commendable,”

 the governor concluded.
