The Federal Government has announced that Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, will be observed as public holidays in celebration of Eid-ul-Adha.

This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Monday by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.

Minister Tunji-Ojo extended heartfelt congratulations to Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe, urging them to embrace the spirit of sacrifice and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him).

He encouraged the Muslim community to use this period to pray for peace and prosperity in Nigeria.

The Minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the people-focused reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at steering Nigeria toward progress.

Concluding the statement, Tunji-Ojo called on all Nigerians to unite and support the administration’s efforts to restore the nation’s greatness while wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyous Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
