FactCheck: Is It True That Ebonyi First Lady Planned House Purchase Worth 10 Billion Overseas?

Claim: Ebonyi state governor’s wife, Mrs Mary-Maudline Nwifuru plans to purchase house worth 10 Billion In Canada

A Facebook user, Nwoba Chika Nwoba , member of Peoples Democratic, PDP in Ebonyi state, posted on Facebook that the governor’s wife plans to purchase a  house worth 10 Billion in Hamilton, Canada.

His post reads: “My dear sister, Uzoamaka Nwifuru, You returned to lodge yesterday and broke down in tears saying that I have dealt with you. You couldn’t control yourself last night. Oguzor arrived at the lodge and told you to calm down as he’d pick me up from yesterday till today. He assured you that it’s a done deal. He tracked me twice last night. He’s also retrying this morning. An idle commissioner”.

“Governor’s wife, Uzoamaka my sister, I can’t remember mentioning your name on that post and the state involved. But since you have owned it up, so be it. It’s very bad that the wife of a governor of a state with a very large population of poor people could buy a house in Canada at the cost of N10 billion. This is wickedness. God will not forgive you since you have owned it. This is immeasurable wickedness.”

Verification:

According to an insider at Ebonyi state government house, Polycarp Obinna Alegu, revealed that Governor’s wife has been out of the country for the past one week as against Nwoba Chika’s allegation, claiming that the governor’s wife crying profusely  in her lodge in three ago and was comforted by commissioner oguzor offia nwali.

Findings revealed that the statement was just a mere allegation and no top sources confirmed that the governor’s wife purchased a house worth 10 Billion.

Speaking with ASIWAJU MEDIA, Obinna stated that her excellency Uzoamaka has not been in the country for over a week , she was in London when Chika fabricated the claim and was not even in Canada prior to this time rather she was in London and she never purchase any apartment.

“The first lady has been in London for a week now. Therefore, she was not in London when Chika Nwoba said she was in her lodge crying that he (Chika) said she bought a house worth N10 billion in Canada.” he narrated

“The N10 billion he said that the Governor’s wife used and bought a house in Canada is false. The woman did buy any house.” he added

The claim that first lady Uzoamaka purchases a house worth 10 Billion in Canada is misleading, the governor’s wife has been in London for the past one week and was never lodged crying profusely as narrated.
