Asiwaju Managing Editor Selected for Amplifying Climate Storytelling Fellowship

Asiwaju Media’s Managing Editor, Fatimah Idera, has been selected for the Amplifying Climate Storytelling Fellowship.

The cohort, specially organized by the Cable Newspaper Journalism Foundation (CNJF) was said to empower youth in media with enough capacity to report climate change and Environmental stories around them and beyond.

This year’s application received a total of seventy eight applicants to which only thirteen applicants finally made it to the final shortlist.

The fellowship, organised in partnership with TheCable Newspaper, will feature a two days capacity-building training scheduled for February 3 and 4 in Lagos.

The training will feature a field trip to a coastal community, and participants stand to receive a modest climate story grant.

Speaking with ASIWAJU Media, Miss Fatimah expressed her excitement for making it to the final shortlist as part of the participants. She explained that it was a testament of her dedication to the journalistic field.

“I am so happy to have made the final shortlist of this fellowship. I must say I wasn’t expecting to see my name there because I feel like there are bigger journalists in the mainstream,” she said.

However, making it to the final shortlist I am growing and I really appreciate that. I pray the almighty keeps bringing more of this blessings,” she ended.
