APC United, Stronger, and Fully Behind President Tinubu -Hope Uzodinma

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has emphasized that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is united, stronger, focused, and fully supportive of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Uzodinma made the statement while addressing the press following a party caucus meeting at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja on Tuesday, which was presided over by President Tinubu. The governor dismissed claims that the APC was a “one-man show,” stressing that the party’s representation spans across six geopolitical zones, with governors from various states present at the meeting.
He noted that the party’s structure, as defined in its constitution, includes various leadership roles and a hierarchical framework, ensuring broad participation in decision-making processes. “Our party is united, stronger, focused, and supportive of the government,” Uzodinma stated. “We need to celebrate our own. The government is heavily supported by the APC, and from time to time, we must show that we are behind the government.”
On the issue of internal party democracy, Uzodinma highlighted that the APC, being a large political party, operates with well-established internal mechanisms for selection. He pointed to the party’s track record of electoral victories, which, according to him, stemmed from its commitment to high standards of internal democracy and capacity building. “Why are we winning all these elections? It’s because we have demonstrated high capacity and respect for democracy,” he remarked.
Uzodinma also praised the leadership of President Tinubu, particularly in terms of revenue generation and economic development, noting that the country is benefitting from improved infrastructure, social change, and other positive economic dynamics.
He further stated that the APC is the party to beat, both in Nigeria and across Africa, calling it the envy of other political parties. As part of efforts to strengthen the party’s intellectual foundation, Uzodinma revealed that the APC had launched the Progressive Institute, its intellectual arm designed to conduct research, provide training, and build the intellectual capacity of party members.
On the issue of national security, Uzodinma commended President Tinubu’s efforts in addressing insecurity in the country, citing testimonies from APC members in Zamfara State where relative peace has returned, allowing farmers to return to their farms in the southeast. “The president has done very well in terms of managing insecurity in the country,” he said.
The meeting was attended by a range of high-profile party figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Gov. Umar Bago of Niger, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, Gov. Nasiru Idris of Kebbi, Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, and other key party leaders.
