Wizkid Tops Spotify as Most-Streamed African Artiste with 8 Billion Streams

Nigerian music icon Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has been named the most-streamed African artiste on Spotify, surpassing top stars Burna Boy and Davido.
The award-winning artiste, Wizkid achieved a staggering 8 billion streams on Spotify, cementing his position as one of Africa’s leading musical exports.

Burna Boy secured second place with 7.5 billion streams, followed by Rema in third with 4.37 billion streams and Tems in fourth with 3.24 billion streams. Despite strong performances, these artistes fell short of Wizkid’s record-breaking numbers.
Wizkid’s rise to the top is a testament to his influence on the global music scene. Known for hits like “Kese (Dance),” the talented artiste has continuously redefined African music by exploring new styles and collaborating with international acts, further expanding his global fan base.
Davido ranked seventh with 2.5 billion streams, while other notable names in the top 10 include CKay (8th place, 2.33 billion streams), Ayra Starr (9th place, 2.2 billion streams), Omah Lay (1.93 billion streams), and Asake (1.9 billion streams).
