FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has confirmed that he was onboard a private jet that recently experienced engine failure while flying at 34,000 feet.

The incident, which went viral after an audio clip surfaced of a man praying and shouting passionately during the emergency, stirred reactions online. The voice in the recording, believed to be Wike’s, could be heard crying out:

“Satan, you are a liar! Father, Father! Oh Jehovah! Blood of Jesus! Father, it is time to prove Yourself! Jesus, You are in charge! Ohhh Jehovah! Save my soul!”

Wike later confirmed during a church testimony that he was indeed the person behind the voice. He shared details of what transpired that day:

“My wife had gone to Lagos to bring back my daughter, and they landed at the Air Force Base. I said I would just go there, wait for them, and board the plane to Lagos. Fifteen minutes after takeoff, we heard a loud boom! Everyone was running at the Air Force Base. The pilot said one engine had failed and that it was safer to return to Port Harcourt than continue to Lagos. So we turned back.”

Wike revealed that he was on the flight with Olaka Ogwu and Marcus Leach, and they were all shaken by the experience. He said:

“Olaka told me he hadn’t even informed his wife yet. The fear of God filled us. Personally, I hadn’t told my parents anything. I just stayed quiet until we landed safely.”

Wike’s testimony confirms the authenticity of the video and highlights the close call that could have ended in tragedy. Fortunately, everyone onboard landed safely, and no injuries were reported.
