UK Man Loses £12,000 in Thrift Scheme After Collector’s Sudden Death
A UK-based man has shared a heartbreaking story of losing £12,000 in a thrift savings scheme after the collector’s unexpected passing. The incident has left the man reeling, both emotionally and financially.
According to a post on social media, the thrift scheme involved 12 close-knit members contributing £1,000 monthly. Each member would take turns receiving the collective sum of £12,000. The arrangement had been running smoothly for months, with no issues or disputes among the members.
Tragedy struck in July when it was the man’s turn to collect. The group’s collector, Kola, had been unresponsive for two days before the payout. Despite repeated calls, Kola failed to answer, leaving the man worried and confused.
Days later, Kola’s wife called one of the group members, sobbing, to inform them of Kola’s sudden passing. The news sent shockwaves through the group, and it took them a month to muster the courage to ask Kola’s wife about the money.
To their dismay, Kola’s wife had no knowledge of the thrift scheme or the whereabouts of the £12,000. The group is now left with no recourse, and the man is struggling to come to terms with the loss.
