Two Lagos Factory Workers Die After Falling into Diesel Reservoir
Tragedy struck on Saturday, January 11, 2025, as two factory workers lost their lives in a diesel reservoir accident at a factory in Ikosi Oregun, Lagos State.
Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident in a statement. Preliminary investigations revealed how the tragic events unfolded.
The first worker accidentally fell into the reservoir while performing repair work. The second worker, in a bid to rescue his colleague, also fell into the tank and became trapped.
LASEMA and the state fire service promptly rescued the victims, administering CPR and transporting them to a hospital via the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS). Despite efforts, both men succumbed to their injuries
