Social Media Critic Verydarkman Calls Out Activists Over Okoya Sons’ Naira Abuse Scandal

Vincent Martins Otse, widely known as Verydarkman (VDM), has criticized prominent Nigerian activists for their silence on a viral naira abuse case involving Raheem and Wahab Okoya, sons of billionaire businessman Chief Rasak Okoya.
The incident occurred at a public event where the duo was filmed spraying naira notes, leading to public outrage and the detention of a police officer who handled the cash for them.
In a recent video, VDM accused activists like Seun Kuti, Omoyele Sowore, Femi Falana, Mr. Macaroni, and Deji Adeyanju of avoiding the issue.
He questioned whether their lack of response was due to the Okoya family’s Yoruba heritage, implying their activism might be selective.
The viral footage sparked criticism online, with many questioning why the Okoya sons had not been held accountable for their actions. Meanwhile, the police officer involved was detained, further fueling public anger.
VDM expressed frustration, claiming that no police officer would dare challenge the Okoya sons for fear of losing their job. He also expressed disappointment over Raheem Okoya’s apology, stating it was insufficient without further consequences.
In his words, VDM said:
“If any officer in this country dares to touch the Okoya sons, we’ll see. Where are the activists now? Is it because they are Yoruba that you all are quiet? Nigerians, let’s wait and watch.”
