Ready, Set, Camp! NYSC Lagos Gets Set for 2024 Batch “A” Stream II Orientation

Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa, State Coordinator NYSC Lagos has charged Principal Camp Officials to step up preparation for the 2024 Batch “A” Stream II Orientation starting on Wednesday, 17th of April.

Baderinwa gave the charge during a meeting with the principal camp officials of the Camp, along with collaborating agencies on Monday.

Giving statistics of the Prospective Corps Members deployed to Lagos State, she charged the officials to ensure readiness to seamlessly receive the Corps Members into the Camp without any hitch.

While tasking the Accommodation Committee to receive the corps members warmly, she hinted that the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has approved three hundred bunk beds to the Camp, which are already on ground, to smoother any accommodation challenge should any arises.

She also vowed that despite the power supply challenge being experienced in the camp area, that steady power supply will be available in camp, to aid camping operations, and make camping stay a memorable one.

While addressing some sections of the collaborating agencies, she appreciated the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) and the DSS for their stealth operations which have nipped in the bud some moral decadence rampart among the youths, she called on other officials to ensure Prospective Corps Members are being received warmly from the gate and ensure Prospective Corps Members who are not fit are screened accordingly and ensure the rights processes are observed.

She also emphasized that corps members are to be warmly received and with discipline.

The Camp Director for the Course, Mrs Itohan Ehimwenma, has called on officials to take a closer look at their flaws as a committee and work on it in preparation while they firm up their areas of strength.

She unveiled the Course’s theme as “Excellence; My Pathway To Success.”

She urged the officials to pursue excellence during the Course and employ the use of teamwork, to achieve the objectives of the Course.

Aligning with positions of the State Coordinator and the Camp Director, the nominated Camp Commandant of the Course, Major Ibrahim Ibrahim, said his men will be on ground to prosecute the Course. He called on the cooperation of the officials to ensure the overall discipline of the Camp.
