The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one suspect in connection with a fresh attack on the family residence of suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The suspect, identified as Joe Suberu, was reportedly caught at the scene of the incident in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, on Tuesday.

Speaking to Punch Online on Wednesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, said Suberu had confessed to taking part in the attack.

“Yes, it’s true. One suspect, Joe Suberu, was arrested at the scene. Efforts are ongoing to track down others who fled,” Aya said.

According to a statement released by the Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Media Office, the attackers—armed and destructive—vandalised several windows during the assault. However, they were quickly repelled by a combined response team made up of police officers, local vigilantes, and concerned community members.

“With the swift intervention of officers from the local police station, community vigilantes, and concerned youths, the attackers were repelled and one suspect was apprehended,” the statement said.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing, as police continue efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects.
