Platoon 6 Steal the Show at Drill Competition
The NYSC Lagos 2024 Batch C Stream I corps members recently showcased their exceptional discipline, coordination, and passion for service during the Inter-platoon Drill competition.
The event, which took place at the Lagos orientation camp, featured a captivating parade display across ten (10) competing platoons.
Each corps member on the parade ground was impeccably dressed and demonstrated unwavering enthusiasm, as they marched in unison to dazzle the audience with their impressive drill skills.
The parade display was a perfect response to the Clarion call, showcasing the corps members’ commitment to serving the nation.
Mrs. Christiana Salmwang, the State Coordinator, commended the participating corps members for their outstanding performance, considering the limited time they had to learn and perfect their drill skills.
She emphasized the importance of teamwork, focus, dedication, and commitment, highlighting these values as essential for success in their future endeavors.
The State Coordinator further advised the corps members to carry these values into their respective Places of Primary Assignment (PPA), just as they did on the parade ground, to uphold national values and make a positive impact in their host communities.
The success of the event was largely attributed to the tireless efforts of the camp commandant, Captain Kenneth Wandate, and the drill instructors, who instilled an unwavering spirit of sportsmanship in the corps members. Their dedication to service not only resulted in a spectacular parade display but also helped mold the corps members into leaders of the next generation.
At the end of the competition, Platoon 6 emerged as the overall winner, while Platoon 10 and 2 secured second and third places, respectively. Trophies were presented to the winners, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
