Facebook Absence

A prolific writer of note and Political Analyst, Nwede Chinonso Martin-Ede has disclosed that his absence on Facebook is for personal reasons, adding that he is healthy.

Nwede, a cultural enthusiast and  Special Assistant on Documentation and Culture to the Deputy Speaker, of Ebonyi State House of Assembly made this known in Abakaliki to a Journalist when queried why he has been mute on Facebook for some months.

“My absence is for personal reasons. I’m very fine, worry not. You know I used to be very active on Facebook but there are times when a man needs to address some issues in his life. I will be back on Facebook in no distant time with a lot of good news. That I’m not posting doesn’t mean I’m off from the happenstances. I must thank some friends who called to know my whereabouts. I won’t take them for granted. Some friends I considered more important than others never cared to know why I went offline. I appreciate those who showed concern and those who showed no regard”

The social media guru has been absent on Facebook since he made a post via his two Facebook accounts on 1st January 2024. His absence, however, prompted friends and his followers who enjoy his articles on Facebook to ask about his whereabouts. It was also observed that the updates on his main WhatsApp account stopped in January.

Nwede who observed that the circumstances of life are an opportunity to define how one is loved, expressed dismay at the attitude of most of his valued friends who never cared to know why he has been off on Facebook. He called on people to be careful with those they regard as their friends, noting that, some friends are enemies masquerading as foes.

He thanked God for his infinite mercy and grace thus far. And extolled the Deputy, Speaker EBHA Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah and Comr Bldr Okoro Joshua Offor Majesty, MD Reinforced Global Resources LTD, describing them as his destiny helpers.
