NEMA Enlightens Corps Members On Disaster Management

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has trained the 2024 Batch B stream two Corps members deployed to Lagos State on disaster management.During the training they were equipped with essential knowledge and skills to respond effectively to various emergency situations.

Mr. Ajose Olayiwola of NEMA explained that the agency aims to utilize NYSC corps members as vanguards and volunteers to standardize disaster response activities at the grassroot level.He explained that Local volunteer organizations have crucial roles to play in disaster management, as disasters can occur at any time.
Mr Ajose explained that
by joining the NEMA vanguard, corps members will have access to a range of benefits and opportunities, including training in first aid and fire prevention techniques, early access to community members for swift response, participation in community development initiatives, skill acquisition, career advancement amongst others.
