Elon Musk has sparked fresh controversy after claiming that former U.S. President Donald Trump is named in the still-unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on June 5, Musk wrote:
“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
He followed up with another message:
“Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”
The explosive allegation comes amid escalating tensions between Musk and Trump. Their public feud recently intensified after Musk criticized a Republican-backed spending bill, prompting Trump to accuse Musk of hypocrisy and threaten to revoke federal contracts and subsidies benefiting Musk’s companies.
The Epstein files refer to documents tied to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sex crimes and associated with many powerful individuals. While Trump and Epstein were known to have socialized in the past, there is no confirmed evidence that Trump appears in any sealed or unsealed documents related to Epstein.
Musk’s claims have reignited public interest in the contents of the Epstein files, but no official confirmation has been provided to support his statement.
