Lagos Corps Members Receive Key Insights on Corps Inspection and Monitoring (CIM) Operations

Corps members at the soon ending 2023 Batch “C” Stream II Orientation Course at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja, have been exposed to the Corps Inspection and Monitoring(CIM) branch lecture of the National Youth Service Corps.

While Describing the duties of CIM, a Principal official of the branch, Mr. Charles Obiokala said it is responsible for the regular inspection of corps members and supervision of officials who directly monitors corps members throughout the service year.

While sharing the various ways the inspection team carries out its tasks, Mr. Obiokala said the Branch visits corps members during Community Development Service (CDS), monitors and checks biometric capturing, and pays routine visits to where corps members work.

He stressed the importance of corps members promptly reporting to their designated workplaces after camp and advised them to behave responsibly, follow proper channels for complaints and other communications, and seek permission from authorities when needed especially on issues that border on the service year.

Closing the session, Mr. Obiokala introduced the Zones within NYSC Lagos State, which are; Island Zone, Shomolu Zone, Ikeja Zone, and Ojo Zone.

He also introduced the officials of the zones who are the Zonal and Local Government Inspectors, giving the corps members a clearer understanding of the support system available throughout their service period.
