IGP Egbetokun Decorates Towuru as DIG

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, on Wednesday, 22nd of January, 2025, decorated DIG Jonathan Towuru at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
He also ordered Towuru’s posting to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).
The decision was made to enhance the department’s effectiveness in handling criminal investigations nationwide. DIG Towuru, known for his vast experience and commitment, is expected to bring valuable leadership to the department.
His appointment comes at a crucial time when the Force is intensifying efforts to combat crime and improve policing strategies across the country. The IGP believes his leadership will yield positive results.
In a related development, the IGP has also approved the deployment of new Commissioners of Police to Kogi and Edo states. CP Miller Dantawaye will head Kogi, while CP Betty Otimenyin takes charge of Edo.
The deployments are part of strategic measures to strengthen security, ensure public safety, and enhance police operations in both states. The IGP urged the new CPs to discharge their duties with dedication.
