“I am deeply shocked by the news of the demise of the Clerk of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Mrs. Patricia Añasi”
“This is a monumental loss for Ebonyi State.” He added.
According to the Governor “She was a fine servant and Clerk. She dedicated her energy and grit in public service, which led to evident productivity and steady progress of Ebonyi State House of Assembly. In all ramifications, she was an apostle of due process and good governance.”
He recounted that “When I presided over the Assembly as the Honourable Speaker, I had robust working relationship with her. Her keen intellect and tireless efforts, were largely instrumental to the successes we recorded. She was a good team player, who never compromised quality”.
Rt. Hon Nwifuru described the deceased as a mother at all “Late Patricia was like a mother to us. That is why her death is devastating. It is an irreparable loss, not only to the immediate family but to those of us who came across her while she lived.
“Indeed, we have lost a well groomed technocrat, whose wealth of experience will be greatly missed by Ebonyi State and humanity.” The governor added.
He Commiserated with the family and charged them to grieve like Christians “I condole with the immediate family, Ebonyi State House of Assembly and indeed, the entire State. In times like this as Christians, we have to exalt the Words of the Holy Scriptures which says, “If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we belong to God.” (Romans 14:18); And “In all things, we should give thanks to God.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).”
“As Government, we can never forget her meritorious services. Therefore, I encourage her family to take consolation in the life of honour she lived and make efforts to sustain her enduring legacies.
May her gentle soul rest in peace, Amen.” He added.
