FG To Make Civil Service Fully Paperless By December 2025

The Federal Government has announced plans to fully digitalize the Nigerian Civil Service, with a complete transition to a paperless system expected by December 2025.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, revealed this during the 2024 National Council on Establishments meeting in Bauchi. She noted that ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) are currently at different stages of implementing the digitalization process.
According to Yemi-Esan, the shift to a paperless system is part of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP 2021–2025), which aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in government operations.
She emphasized that once fully implemented, the digital workflow will replace traditional paper-based processes, significantly improving productivity, reducing administrative bottlenecks, and cutting operational costs.
This digital transformation is expected to modernize the civil service, streamline service delivery, and support a more responsive and technology-driven public sector.
