Ebonyi Missing Critic Breaks Silence Over His Disappearance
Nwoba Chika Nwoba

Nwoba Chika Nwoba, a member of the opposition and former Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi who has been reported missing has broken the silence from exile.

Recall that, ASIWAJU Media earlier reported on how he went missing. We equally reported how his wife came out to complain about the family has been facing after he went missing.

Further that, our reporter gave a detailed analysis differing facts from fiction over his (Nwoba’s) missing saga.

However, the Ebonyi government critic, Nwoba Chika Nwoba has come out himself to clear the air.

In his words.

“On my way from a hospital in Awkuzu, Anambra State, I noticed a vehicle following me tyre for tyre. I guessed that the three men in it could be tracking my movement. And true to that, it double-crossed me with a view to getting hold of me. I immediately jumped out into a compound and sustained bruises on my right hand and waist, losing my phone in the process. Later in that night of Sunday last week, I was taken to a medical facility around Awkuzu for treatment,” he wrote in a statement.

“Luckily for me, the person that picked my phone held it until I managed to come back to the vicinity that I ran into and claimed it yesterday, for I knew that that was where I lost it. I’m still receiving treatment. These same three men my wife briefed me invaded my apartment in Awka yesterday asking for me. They held one of the boys living with me. They later released him in the night of yesterday but still holding his phone till now. According to the boy, they were speaking dialect,” he continued.

He furthered that those men were sent by the Ebonyi State’s commissioner for commerce & industry. That the commissioner has been threatening his life, spending so much public funds to get hold of him. “I’m yet to comprehend what his grouse against me is as he’s not the only commissioner or member of the committee I petitioned to the EFCC last year. His insistence to ass-assinate me has got to a head. I plead with the governor, Hon. Francis Nwifuru to tell his commissioner to detour as I’m not the problem he should be solving in his ministry. The governor should give him a strict order to leave me alone lest it degenerates into a catastrophe that could affect the security of the state as I have endured the much I can from this commissioner. These attacks on my life and family by some elements of the Ebonyi State Government chief of whom is the commissioner for commerce & industry have become despicable and it’s time they detoured.”

“I thank all the people & media platforms that reported my sudden disappearance, and others who made calls and messages to my phone. May God bless you all for lending voices and showing concerns. It wasn’t a case of arrest, but ass-assination attempt which is more grievous than arrest. Ebonyi State Government and its appointees should focus on eradicating insecurity and poverty in Ebonyi State and not hunting for my soul. Nkalaha community was attacked three days ago and attacked again today by suspected Fulani herders. The government and its agents should face what is important and stop investing in grabbing me over criticism of the government and agents on social media. Ebonyi people are being slau-ghtered by intruders and government is yet to tackle it headlong,” he ended.
