The Camp Director for the 2024 Batch “C” Stream II Orientation Course in Lagos, Mrs. Grace Oso, has described the Prospective Corps Members deployed to Lagos State as a special breed with the potential to drive the state forward.

Speaking to the Prospective Corp Members in the Orientation camp, Mrs. Oso expressed confidence in their ability to excel during the orientation programme and urged them to cooperate with camp officials for a smooth exercise.

“The officials are are here because of you, and as such, you must respect them,” she said.

She further addressed the issue of proper dressing, reminding the prospective corp members of the need to always be appropriately dressed.

“You must be well-dressed at all times and ensure you take good care of your belongings,” Mrs. Oso advised.

As part of the programme, the Head of Publicity and Protocol, Mrs. Omolola Aladesoun, introduced the corp members to the concept of morning meditation.

“Morning meditation is a tool for inspiration and leadership development. It also helps to build public speaking skills,” Mrs. Aladesoun explained

The corp members were also introduced to the NYSC anthem during the session and were taught its lyrics, marking the start of their integration into the scheme’s traditions and values.

The first day of the orientation course set the tone for the three-week exercise, with officials emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence as key values for them to embody throughout their service year.
