Call For Applications: Enugu Magic Labs Animation Training (EMAT) Program, Batch 2

The Enugu State Government, in collaboration with Magic City Labs and Magic Lab Academy, has officially launched Batch 2 of the Enugu Magic Labs Animation Training (EMAT) program. This six-month educational initiative aims to train over 400 Nigerian youths in 2D illustration and 3D motion design, equipping them with high-income digital skills for the growing animation industry.
“Animation is the future, and Enugu is not watching from the sidelines,” said a representative from the Enugu SME Center. “We’ve been so impressed by the progress of our current EMAT trainees, the creativity, the discipline, and the hunger to learn. That’s why we’re excited to announce that Batch 2 is now open!”
With the global animation industry currently valued at over $394 billion, this program is a strategic move to place Enugu youths at the heart of the global creative economy. Through the Enugu SME Center, the state government is providing up to 80% subsidized tuition, making the program accessible to talented individuals with a passion for storytelling and design.
The EMAT program is not just another training scheme, it’s a career launchpad. Magic Lab Academy, a globally recognized studio, already boasts over 500 alumni working at top studios like Netflix, Disney, and leading African media companies. Their practical, hands-on approach has made them a key player in developing Africa’s animation talent pipeline.
“This program is more than just a class,” said a Magic Labs Academy official. “It’s a bridge to the creative tech industry in Africa.”
