Bayero University honors Outgoing Deputy Vice-Chancellors

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has celebrated its outgoing Deputy Vice-Chancellors (DVCs) with a grand reception, to mark the end of their five-year tenure.

The event, honored Professor Sani Muhammad Gumel, Professor Mahmoud Umar Sani, and Professor Abdullahi Sule-Kano for their exceptional leadership and contributions to the University.

In his remarks, BUK Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sagir Abbas commended the outgoing DVCs for their dedication, commitment, and selfless sacrifices, which have elevated BUK as one of Africa’s leading institutions.

He acknowledged that their names will remain integral in the history of the University.

Professor Abdullahi Sule-Kano who spoke on behalf of the honorees, thanked the Vice-Chancellor and staff for their support, which enabled the DVCs to achieve significant milestones.

The outgoing DVCs were received gifts, including 65-inch Smart TVs, among others.

The event was attended by senior management of the university as they bid farewell to their distinguished academics.

In a similar development, BUK has appointed three new Deputy Vice-Chancellors: Professor Harun Musa (Academics), Professor Amina Mustapha (Research and Development), and Professor Aliyu Muazu (Management Services).

Presenting the appointment letters, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas congratulated the new DVCs.

He expressed confidence in their ability to contribute to the university’s growth and wished them success in their new roles.
