2025 C-SAGAS Arts and Sciences Competition Officially Flagged Off in Ebonyi State

The 2025 edition of the C-SAGAS Charity Foundation Arts and Sciences Competition for secondary schools has been officially launched in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The flag-off ceremony took place at Urban Model Secondary School, Ndufu Echara Ikwo, drawing a distinguished audience of dignitaries, education stakeholders, and enthusiastic students.
Organized by the C-SAGAS Charity Foundation, the initiative aims to promote academic excellence, innovation, and practical skills among secondary school students in Ebonyi and surrounding regions.

The event was led by prominent education advocates and youth development experts including:
- Dr. Obisi Nweke, State Coordinator
- Engr. Dr. Uche Ogah, Secretary
- Assoc. Prof. Arthur Nwachukwu, Chairman, Academic and Skill Acquisition Team
- Engr. Dr. Archibong Friday Nwankwo, Secretary, Academic and Skill Acquisition Team
Also in attendance were:

- Hon. Mrs. Margaret Ngozi Igwe, Coordinator, Women and Children Affairs
- Dr. Rosemary Ozioma Igwe, Secretary, Women and Children Affairs & Agricultural Skill Acquisition
- Prince Mathew Enyita, Head of Marketing
- Comrade Nchonu Theodore, Chairman, Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Ikwo LGA
- Mr. Akuma Joseph, Principal, Urban Model Secondary School Ikwo
- Queen Harmony and Amobi Stanley, members of the foundation’s media team
Urban Model Secondary School, the host venue, served as a symbolic location, reflecting the academic strength of Ikwo LGA. Students from across the local government gathered to witness the launch and draw inspiration from the event’s powerful messages.
Speakers underscored the importance of merging academic brilliance with practical, hands-on skills in today’s rapidly evolving world. Emphasis was placed on creativity, critical thinking, and innovation in science and the arts.
According to the organizers, the Okpataozuoha Arts and Sciences Competition 2025 is designed to:
- Encourage innovation and creativity in both science and the arts
- Inspire healthy academic competition among students
- Promote skill acquisition alongside formal education
- Identify and nurture young talents in Ikwo LGA
- Foster greater community involvement in education
With the successful kickoff of the 2025 edition, the C-SAGAS Foundation hopes to broaden the competition’s reach and deepen its impact in the years ahead. The support of educators, parents, community leaders, and government stakeholders is expected to be crucial in driving the initiative forward.
As the competition progresses, students will participate in a series of academic challenges, skill-based presentations, and science and arts exhibitions aimed at showcasing their talents and problem-solving abilities.
