UTME Results: JAMB urges candidates to use specified methods

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has advised candidates of the just concluded 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to only follow the specified method to check their results.
A statement by the Public Communication Advisor of the Board, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said that candidates are to access their scores by sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019, with the phone number used during the registration process, and ensure that the SIM is not on any bundle.
According to the statement, this method was different from what was obtained last year, as the result cannot be found on the board’s website.
It warned the public to be wary of any candidate parading a printed result slip, as the result is not in any paper format.
The statement added that candidates do not have to visit any cybercafé or patronize any third-party entity to check their results.
On Monday, JAMB released the results of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Prof Ishaq Oloyede, the registrar of the examination body, said 8,401 candidates representing 0.5 percent scored 300 and above, while 77,070 candidates representing 4.2 percent scored 250 and above.
