US releases deadline for TikTok sale deal

President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has announced that an agreement to sell TikTok’s United States. operations will be finalised before the April 5 deadline.
The popular video-sharing app, owned by China’s ByteDance, faces a potential ban unless it transitions to American ownership under a 2024 national security law.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump revealed strong investor interest in acquiring TikTok, stating, “We have a lot of potential buyers… I’d like to see TikTok remain alive.”
The US government has raised concerns over data privacy risks tied to ByteDance’s Chinese ownership.
TikTok has yet to publicly respond to Trump’s remarks.
