Unauthorized Social Media Use Prohibited – DG, NYSC

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has cautioned Prospective Corps Members participating in the 3-week Orientation course nationwide not to use social media in ways inimical to the image of the scheme.
Brigadier Ahmed made this call on a virtual Broadcast at NYSC Lagos Permanent Orientation Camp on Monday.
The DG, Brigadier General YD Ahmed warned that corps members are prohibited from capturing the scheme’s events and broadcasting and posting on social media . The DG who also warned them against speaking to the press emphasized that authorization must be procured before engaging in such an act.
On Skill Acquisition, he encouraged the corps members to partake in the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development in camp and post-camp in other to broaden their options of employment as employment is becoming scarcier.
The Director General congratulated the corps members on their academic success, and urged them to be of good conduct during the duration of the camp, obey camp rules, and avoid an attitude that may jeopardize their future.
He warned that the NYSC frowns at the use of illicit drugs and will not hesitate to discipline culpable corps members.
“It is important to state that the Director General of the NYSC is of the custom to broadcast virtual messages to corps members on camp ahead of the Swearing-In Ceremony, and before the three weeks closing ceremony, to prepare the corps for life in camp and charge them ahead of the challenges after the orientation course” an official of NYSC Lagos added.
