Trigger-Happy Police Officer Kills WAEC Candidate In Ibadan

A tragic incident unfolded in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday when a student on his way to sit for his WAEC exams was killed by a stray bullet allegedly fired by a police officer.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred during a high-speed police chase along Gbagi Market Road. In the course of the pursuit, an officer reportedly opened fire, and the bullet struck the student, who was riding on a motorcycle with his twin brother.
Bystanders rushed the victim to Welfare Hospital, but he was confirmed dead on arrival.
In response, angry residents and protesters carried the boy’s body to the Oyo State Secretariat, calling on Governor Seyi Makinde to intervene and ensure justice is served.
As of the time of filing this report, the spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, had yet to respond to calls or messages regarding the incident.
