The ₦180 Million NGO Scandal was a Plan – VDM

In a twist of event, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkblackman has admitted that the ₦180 million claimed to be stolen from his NGO website was a fabricated story.
In a video released on his page this morning, he clarified that no money was stolen, and his website was never hacked. He stated that the story was a deliberate plan to expose the recklessness of the media and the public in spreading and believing unverified information.
“Nobody cared to ask for evidence,” he said in the video. “Everyone just took the news and started spreading it, giving unnecessary analysis, calling me names, and even calling my mother a thief. This action is a deliberate act that I’ve planned long ago.” He explained.
Remember the claim of the theft of ₦180 million from his NGO website has been sparking outrage across social media for some weeks, with the public criticizing the supposed theft and demanding accountability.
In the video, he also directed his criticism at the Nigeria Police, who had publicly debunked the alleged theft. “Police do give not reporting an incident to them as an excuse to not intervening,” he said. “I did not report to them, and there’s no need for their debunking. As they’ve done now, it is imperative for them to always give updates on any incident, even if the parties involved do not report to them.”
He also went on to thank everyone who reached out to him offering support during the saga. He acknowledged their good intentions, noting that their actions mirrored how they would have reacted if the incident had been real. However, he emphasized the importance of demanding evidence and proof before reacting to any claims.
“This should serve as a wake-up call to all Nigerians,” he said. “Always ask for evidence and proof before believing or spreading any information.”
