Suspected Herdsmen Attack Farmers in Ex-Governor Ortom’s Hometown

Two farmers, Nensha Adeor and Kator Gbenge, have been left in critical condition after suspected armed Fulani herdsmen attacked them in Adeor settlement, Ndzorov Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State.
The incident took place in the hometown of former Governor Samuel Ortom.
Eyewitnesses said trouble began when the victims tried to prevent the herders from letting their cattle graze freely on their farmland. The confrontation reportedly turned violent as the assailants, armed with machetes, descended on the farmers and inflicted severe cuts.
Medical personnel at the General Hospital in Gbajimba confirmed that both men are receiving treatment and remain in critical condition.
This attack comes just days after another farmer in the same community was abducted by suspected herdsmen and has yet to be released. As of the time of this report, there has been no contact with the abductors or any ransom demand.
Alarmed by the escalating violence, residents have appealed to security agencies and the Benue State Government to step in urgently to protect lives and property in Ndzorov.
