Spiritual attack allegedly pushes man to death inside Kano well

The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the death of a 50-year-old man, Salisu Musa, who fell into a well in Gora Village, Madobi Local Government Area, after reportedly experiencing a spiritual episode.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the incident was first reported by a fire officer, SFS Sadi Gora.

According to the statement, a rescue team from the Service Headquarters was dispatched immediately after receiving the alert.

“Upon arrival, they found the victim already unconscious in the well. It was gathered that he had been suffering from a demonic illness (Aljannu). During one of his episodes, he ran away and unfortunately fell into the well. He cried for help but no one came to his rescue on time,” the statement noted.

The team eventually retrieved Musa from the well, but he was confirmed dead. His remains were handed over to Inspector Nuhu Danial of the Madobi Police Division.

In a separate incident, the Fire Service rescued a 37-year-old woman, Maryam Bita, who fell into a well along France Road in the Fagge Local Government Area.

The Service received a distress call at about 4:50 a.m. from a resident, Joseph Pitter. The rescue team promptly arrived at the scene.

“Thanks to divine intervention and the quick response of our men, we successfully rescued her alive and rushed her to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for treatment,” the statement added.

Bita was later handed over to Police Constable Mu’azu Abdullahi of the Sabon Gari Police Division for further assistance.
