Sokoto Governor Swears in Top Officials, Vows to Tackle Corruption

The Sokoto state governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, on Tuesday 24th of December, 2024 swore in new Sokoto state commissioners, Special Advisers to the governor and and permanent secretaries, calling on them to uphold prudence and accountability in their various offices.
The Governor charged them to bring their tremendous wealth of experience in discharging their duties and take Sokoto state to greater heights as he claimed everyone of them was chosen based on their track records.
“As Commissioners and Special Advisors,you are the political heads in your respective Ministries and Agencies(MDAs). On the other hand, Permanent Secretaries are the heads of administration and accounting officers in their Ministries. You must ensure a robust and harmonoius working relationship with your staff so that the positive results required could be achieved. You must consult,study and master your assigned schedules to enable you perform diligently and dispassionately,” he explained.
The Governor gave the new appointees remembrance on the need to work in ensuring that his administration’s targets and goals towards serving the people of the state are expeditiously realized in the best interest of the state.
He further reiterated the need for them to be committed, hardworking and prudent in the management of the resources at their disposal, preaching that transparency, accountability and fear of Allah must be their watch words.
He concluded by thanking the people of the state for their support to his administration so far, and assured them of his his readiness to deliver more dividends of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of the state without leaving anyone behind.
