DP Chieftain Dies in Zaria-Kaduna Auto Crash

A prominent SDP chieftain has died in a Zaria-Kaduna auto crash, leaving the Kaduna State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in mourning. Bashir Zakariya, who until his death served as the SDP chairman for Zone One senatorial district in Kaduna State, tragically lost his life on Thursday in a ghastly accident along the busy Zaria–Kaduna highway.

According to party officials, the SDP chieftain died in the Zaria-Kaduna auto crash while travelling from Zaria to Kaduna. The impact of the collision led to his instant death, shocking party members and supporters across the state.

In an official statement released by the SDP publicity secretary, the late Zakariya was remembered as a man of integrity, courage, and vision. His commitment to justice and democracy inspired countless people both within and outside the Social Democratic Party. The spokesman further noted that Zakariya was a principled leader who stood for truth, spoke with conviction, and worked tirelessly to grow the party’s influence in Zone One and beyond.

Following the incident, the Kaduna SDP has called on the state and federal governments to take urgent measures to improve safety and prevent the recurring tragedies along the Zaria–Kaduna Expressway, where the SDP chieftain died in the Zaria-Kaduna auto crash.
