Real Madrid Edge Juventus to Reach Club World Cup Quarter-Finals

Real Madrid have advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Juventus.
The LaLiga champions entered the Round of 16 tie as clear favourites but struggled to find a breakthrough in a tense first half.
Their persistence paid off in the 54th minute when Gonzalo Garcia rose highest to head home a pinpoint cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Xabi Alonso’s side dominated much of the contest and might have extended their lead, but Juventus goalkeeper Michele di Gregorio delivered a string of impressive saves to keep the deficit to a single goal.
Real Madrid will now face the winner of the Borussia Dortmund vs Monterrey clash for a place in the semi-finals.
